This information will include a list of the reception drinks and wines that we offer, together with a drinks order form and details of our free wine tasting sessions where you can sample our range of wines and discuss all your drink requirements in more detail.

There is a comprehensive range of drinks available to suit an array of tastes and budgets.

Drinks packages start from £12.50 per person to include: One reception drink (Bucks Fizz or Pimms and Lemonade), half a bottle of house wine during the wedding breakfast and one glass of sparkling wine for the toast Variations and upgrades are available at highly competitive prices.

As part of your wedding package you will receive one reception drink per person, half a bottle of wine per person during the wedding breakfast and a glass of sparkling wine per person for the toast.

Welcome - Millgate Hotel

The Orangery Restaurant is open nightly from 6pm to 9pm & closed on Sundays.

The restaurant has seating capacity for up to 60 guests and the menu is varied with dishes to suit most tastes, special dietary requests are also catered for.

We offer a specials board and a good selection of steak.

we cater for weddings, anniversary s, christenings, reunions, funeral teas and private dining in our smaller restaurant.

The Orangery bar provides a good selection of beers, wines and spirits along side our fine selection of malt whiskies.

Millgate House Hotel was originally a miller’s house in 1890.

It was subsequently converted into flats in 1972 and then became Millgate House Hotel in 1981.

The Hotel is situated in the conservation area of Millgate, the river Trent is opposite and famous for its fishing, Newark castle is close by and we are a short walk to the large market place which is lined with historic listed buildings, on the edge of the market sits the beautiful parish church, St Mary Magdelene.

We proceeded to turn up to our booking, the waiter, though was lovely, he had no idea what menu we were supposed to be ordering from.

So we head back up to our room after dinner, thinking all was well & good, as dinner was lovely & filling & the service was excellent, though we had a knock at the door saying we hadn’t paid & that I hadn’t authorised a credit card to my room so would need to go back down.

I explained to her that I had booked in for dinner, & had already paid, she reluctantly left & apparently left a note downstairs for the staff the next day.

The following morning, a change of staff brought a breath of fresh air, a wonderful breakfast with lovely & inviting staff that knew we were supposed to be there.

The room was beautiful & the grounds were spectacular, & with the right staff kept up to date, is a wonderful stay.

Orangery | Shendish Manor

The delightful Orangery restaurant offers a first class dining experience.

As well as providing a stunning outlook, the glass panelled wall of the Orangery features sliding doors which open out onto the terrace, overlooking the beautifully manicured Dutch Garden and grounds of the estate.

The Terrace provides the perfect setting to enjoy al fresco dining under the stars on a warm summer’s evening.

The Orangery bar serves a wide selection of wines, beers, Champagnes, cocktails and liqueurs and is the ideal place for an aperitif before dinner or a welcome night cap after your meal.
